Well what a GREAT show the FREEK OUT turned out to be. After a slow start (which we kind of expected with it being at a bar) things started to warm up and near the end of the first film patrons were in full force. Which is great because the intermission was the most interactive part of the night. During intermission we did some fun horror movie trivia and gave away great prizes from Akumu Ink, La Muerta, Eric Pigors, and Kreeps. I wish I was a bit more prepared with my trivia, but with the Queen being on vacation it was hard getting everything together myself. Either way, I tried to make the questions easy so that ANYONE could win. To make up for that though, we did something REALLY fun to give away our awesome masks donated by Trick or Treat studios. First, we had 5 ladies come up and give us their best horror movie scream queen screams. The winner was based on crowd applause. Then, I had 5 guys come up and told them they'd be doing something completely different...only it wasn't different at all. The men also had to let out their best blood curdling girly horror scream. Hahaaa great times I tell you. Shortly after, our friends in the Doppelganger Circus Sideshow put on their unique act of sideshow fun for all in attendance. They always put on a great show and this one was no exception. We then continued with our next film and closed the night out drinking, mingling, eating popcorn, and checking out all the great art on display. Speaking of, I want to give a big THANK YOU to all the artists that set up at the FREEK OUT including Robert Nixon, Myla Strange, Chris Ringler, Amanda Emery, Jerry Shirts, and Steve Jencks. Also, another big thank you goes out to eveyone who came out and had a great time with us! This was only Monster King's second event so you know that they can only get bigger and better from here. Below you can check out some pics from the event taken by Myla Strange and Robert Nixon. Until next time folks!

Hello again my kiddies! Are you ready to have another monster meet-up again? Well I hope so because we have a new show for you and your ghoul pack to attend. The Double Feature FREEK OUT will be a night filled with horror art and films. You know what my favorite part about the show is? It's FREE to get into!!! Yessssss!! I've always wanted to put on a free show because I hate charging my pals to come hang out.

Woobies was kind enough to let us take over their space again but this time things are a bit different. Instead of having awesome bands for entertainment, we'll be showing TWO amazingly fun horror films on a projector screen. The first film is a bit of classic zombie cinema and is also one of my favorites "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things". The second film "Chillerama" is a newer film but is a nod to the old drive in expierience and tells not one, but four tales of cryptic campiness and terror. Now, I want to stress that this isn't your normal movie night. Yes we'll have chairs about for you to sit in, but PLEASE, do NOT worry about being on your best behavior. BOO the teens, CHEER on the zombies, HECKLE the horrible acting. The last thing I want is everyone sitting quietly in their chairs and hushing anyone that makes a peep. This isn not at a theatre, it's a bar. Have a drink and relax yourself. Oh yeah, I almost forgot.  I Hope you like popcorn with your movies because we'll have FREE POPCORN for you to snack on.

Now on top of the great films we're showing, we'll have fantastic artists from all over Michigan displaying their own creepy creations. Each of the artists will be in person and have a table set up with their talent on display and for sale. Be sure to chat it up with them and purchase your own piece of independent horror art. Artists in attendance include myself, Robert Nixon, Vanessa Perez, Myla Jayne Strange, Steve Jencks, Roger Sholz, Jerry Shirts, Chris Ringler, Amanda Emery, and Cee Jay Jones.

As a special treat we are bringing back our fiends from the Seance ALIVE! event, the Doppelganger Circus Sideshow! They will be mixing up the entertainment for the night by performing their visual insanity LIVE and in your face during our intermission between the two films.

All of this is going down in April. What day? Friday the 13th of course. Don't miss out on this night of blood, booze, and insanely cool art. SEE YOU THERE!!

Well, these have been in the making for quite some time. Vanessa and myself have finally put together our first creative collaboration. Ever since Vanessa got her sewing machine this was the whole idea. Sooo yeah, expect a lot more stuff like this. Also, expect it to get bigger and better every time! Let's get in to the making of this here bag.

When I asked Miss Vanessa what kind of image she wanted for the bags she almost immediately responded with "BATS!".  I quickly got to work sketching all sorts of bat faces. Some scary, some silly. Then I let her pick the features she liked most from each one and shortly after we had just what we wanted. We sent the illustration off to Spoonflower to get a custom fabric test swatch. The first swatch came back and sadly, it was unsuccessful. The web design in the background was missing. Apparently it was too dark and their computer/printer didn't recognize it and it just faded into the black. I went back and made it a bit brighter. We then waited another couple weeks to receive a second swatch. This time it was right on the money! We got right on top of ordering enough to make a small bundle.

Once we got the fabric it was time for our Queen to do her magic. She got down to cutting fabric, sewing it with the machine, sewing it with her fingers and making them the most quality lil' bags you ever did see! We decided to make a few different options with the zippers and interiors of the bags. Everyone's different, so why not give them different colors to choose from, eh?

Oh yeah, we put together some fancy little tags for them too!

You can find those tagged on to each one of our bat-tastic creations. Taking a closer look at those you might notice something else pretty special about these bags. We have decided to donate $5.00 from the sale of each bag to Bat World Sanctuary. What is Bat World Sanctuary? I'll let them explain...

"In a world where so many look away, Bat World Sanctuary is on the front line to end the abuse and destruction of bats. We are recognized as the world’s leader in bat care standards and cutting-edge rehabilitation treatments, and we created specific guidelines for excellence in bat education programs that are used worldwide.

Each year we rescue thousands of bats who might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, confiscated from the illegal pet trade and retired from zoos and research facilities. Bat World Sanctuary was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization with 20 rescue centers nationwide."

That's basically the story. It has taken quite a bit of time to get these finished, but we think it's worth it to put together a quality product. We hope you dig what we came up with! Here are a few more pics of our first of many tag team collabos to come. Oh yeah, be sure to pick yours up HERE
